Brunch Recipes

Brunch is the special meal, often on a Sunday that replaces both breakfast and lunch and usually is more relaxed, time consuming, and is carefully planned. Often the brunch accompanies or follows an event, such as a wedding or sports, either in the morning or early in the afternoon. Many restaurants and hotels serve brunch, often as buffets with menu ordered items also available.

Brunch usually revolves around breakfast style foods such as bacon, sausage, ham, omelettes, quiches, French toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, pastries, muffins and breads. But brunch doesn’t imply breakfast and its not uncommon to see buffets including roast beef or turkey, shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, gourmet soups and salads, vegetable dishes, and a variety of amazing desserts.

Brunch is quite commonly celebrated on or around holidays like Valentines Day, Easter, and Mothers Day. Restaurants will put out special menus and buffets catering to diners and offer Champagne Brunches, where alcohol is served along with the meal.

Brunch isnt exclusive to restuarants or hotels. With some planning, and a small budget, anyone can create an incredible dining experience in the comfort of their own home or at the location of their choice. Consider main courses that are inexpensive but taste incredible and appear decadent. Wonderful spreads on garlic toasts, dips for fruits and vegetables, seafood quiches, gourmet sauces and salsas over simple grilled salmon or chicken, all are perfect examples of foods that can be prepared ahead of time and satisfying everyone.
