Often food is the main focus of brunch menus, but tasty beverages can add a finishing touch and a bit of flair to the affair. Washing down delicious dishes with water is lackluster and boring. While sparkling or flavored water can help break the monotony, serving a variety of flavored coffees and teas has been made easier in recent years with the invention of single-serving beverage brewers and flavored creamers. Placing a stand of assorted coffees next to the brewer allows each guest the ability to choose their own personal favorite. Another option is to brew a pot of coffee and serve it with various non-dairy creamers. Pouring boiled water into a carafe and setting it next to an arrangement of specialty teas contained in a festive basket gives guests added choices for their cups.

Hostesses should not limit themselves only to hot beverages when organizing a brunch gathering. Juices are a perfect complement to many breakfast foods. Cold drinks are a welcome change on warm days and the sugary taste acts as much as a dessert as a beverage. An assortment of juices can be placed in beautiful pitchers or individual bottles can be placed in an icy bucket on the table for a more informal assembly. Juices can be mixed with sparkling water or club soda to create spritzers or fizzes that are sure to have the guests talking for days. Adult crowds might enjoy a dash or gin, rum or champagne in their glass. Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and Cosmopolitans are all favorites of late-day brunch goers and can be served either with alcohol or in virgin varieties. Hostesses that serve a variety of appealing and delicious beverages are sure to have a successful brunch that is enjoyed by all.
