1. Spray a 3 quart rectangle baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Spread the bread out to fit the prepared dish.
3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt and almond extract in a large bowl.
4. Add half of the apple pie filling and half of the almonds and stir gently to blend.
5. Pour the mixture over the bread slices, and press the bread down to soak of the mixture.
6. Sprinkle the remaining almonds on top.
7. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight.
8. Turn the oven to 325 degrees and preheat.
9. Bake until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees, which takes about 50 minutes.
10. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
